Overview
This report develops a framework to improve how transportation agencies collect and use Daily Work Report (DWR) data. A literature review and two surveys informed an assessment of current practices, potential benefits, and barriers to better DWR use.
The proposed framework covers data structure, system integration, visualization, collection methods, automated analysis and reporting, human factors, and related technical considerations. Agencies can use it to improve an existing DWR system or guide the development of a new one.
